Buxton Estates in Chatham Township

Buxton Estates in Chatham Township is a luxury home enclave sited on Buxton Road, a long cul-de-sac street which is easily accessed from Southern Boulevard, near the corner of Fairmount Avenue. This is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Chatham Township due to its abundance of picturesque homes on well-tended properties and its convenient location. On clear days, some homes with southern outlooks enjoy distant Manhattan skyline views amid the forested setting.

Stone pillars mark the entry way to the neighborhood, where the former Buxton Estate’s circa 1910 carriage house still stands and is now a beautifully renovated residence. The other homes in Buxton Estates, mostly built from the 1950s to 1980s, are set on properties of about a half-acre or more. Home styles include custom architecture, modern Ranches, sleek Contemporaries, traditional Colonials, and gracious luxury properties. Recent sale prices have started in the high $700s and range to over $1 million.

Centrally located close to all Chatham’s amenities, Buxton Estates is within a mile or two of the Chatham train station for Midtown Direct service to Manhattan, downtown Chatham s shops and restaurants, the township’s highly-ranked public and private schools, the Library of the Chathams, Fairmount Country Club and Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge.
