Deborah started her real estate career in 2002 at a Manhattan-based real estate firm where she excelled in a highly competitive marketplace. She brings that same drive and energy to her sales associate position in Oldwick, a town she's proud to call home.
Before joining Turpin, Deborah lived and worked in Manhattan after graduating from Colgate University. She began her career in advertising, working for some of the top agencies in New York. Her advertising background is an ideal foundation for real estate, since both utilize exceptional communication, marketing and sales skills.
Deborah has been a Tewksbury resident since 1995 and currently lives in the village of Oldwick, a part of the state she says is one of the most beautiful areas anywhere. Trading metropolitan life in New York City for a laid-back country atmosphere suits Deborah well, and she is eager to share her knowledge of the surrounding towns and villages with newcomers.
Making her mark in real estate is based on an ability to listen carefully to what her clients and customers tell her, rather than "hearing what I want to hear," Deborah says. The fact that she thoroughly enjoys meeting new people and likes the process of getting to know them during the purchase or sale of a home contributes to her many successes.
An adventurous spirit and curious mind are exemplified by Deborah's wide-ranging travels around the world. She has spent time on an island in the Great Barrier Reef as well as an orangutan rehab center in North Borneo. Most of Western Europe and parts of South America and Asia have also been on her travel itinerary, giving her a unique global perspective. Involved in various alumni activities for Colgate University which focus on strengthening ties between the school and its graduates, Deborah is also one of the original organizers of the Tewksbury Five Miler, a fundraising run benefiting local charities. In her free time, Deborah's varied interests include paddle tennis, cross-country skiing, running, scuba diving, cooking, gardening, reading, the beach and taking her "incredibly goofy and sweet" English golden retriever on long walks in the area's countryside.
Described by co-workers and clients as thoughtful and generous, Deborah's decision to join the company is summed up in her own words, "Turpin's reputation for unassailable integrity and incredibly high standards sets it apart from any other firm I know." She welcomes your call or e-mail to the Oldwick Office.
