Barb is the Vice President of Business Development. She has been associated with Turpin for the majority of her real estate career, which began in 1980, helping launch the company’s relocation efforts in 1984. Barb has also served as Manager of the Mendham and Chatham Offices from 1997 to 2014.
An integral member of the executive team that guides the company’s strategic direction, Barb manages the e-Business, Relocation, Referral, and Client Services teams. In this role she is the driving force in Turpin’s work ethic, culture and values of the Business Development team. Through personal example, she has firmly established the style and approach that defines the company’s dealings in the marketplace. Barb particularly enjoys interacting with relocation professionals from across the country, and has won numerous awards for outstanding service and sales in the relocation field.
Barb brings high levels of energy and enthusiasm to her position. Of great value are the years she spent at as a Sales Associate and Office Manager. These experiences broadened her knowledge of the real estate industry in general, which is an asset to brokerages referring clients and the relocation companies that place their transferees in Turpin’s care. Clients and co-workers rely on Barb’s empathetic support, knowing that her unflagging good humor, high energy and outgoing personality will shine through in any situation.
Barb took a sabbatical from Turpin in the early 1990s and co-founded Cornerstone Relocation Group, a relocation management services company which has grown to be an impressive player in the relocation space.
Asked to give insight into her position, Barb said, “Matching clients with one of our top-notch agents is a very rewarding feature of my job; I feel fortunate to refer agents who exemplify Turpin’s Core Values to work with the clients I’ve been entrusted to service. Our Sales Associates are amazingly gifted, committed and talented people who are carefully chosen. This dedicated group represents some of the best in the business, and overwhelmingly, many remain at Turpin for decades.”
Barb has a strong desire to be involved with her local community. She is a Past President of the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and currently serves as an active volunteer. Barb is a past recipient of the Golden Bell Leadership Award from the Mental Health Association in New Jersey.
A lifelong New Jersey resident who lives in Morris County, Barb’s downtime includes pursuing hobbies like gardening, cooking, travel and the theater. She and her husband, Larry, have a grown son, Steve, who joined Turpin’s Oldwick Office in 2012. Steve, his wife and three children live nearby in Long Valley.
While Barb is not an “agent in the field,” she is always there to assist clients with their relocation and referral needs and direct them to the best agents and resources she has discovered. Barb welcomes your call or visit to the Relocation Office, located in Turpin’s Bernardsville Office.
