Brian brings a unique perspective to his sales associate position; he is an award-winning architect with over 18 years of experience. His background includes developing real estate projects from market analysis, acquisitions and financial documents to building design, approvals and construction management. He builds on that experience in the Far Hills office, making residential real estate an excellent fit for his professional credentials.
In his real estate career, Brian enjoys helping buyers find the perfect home, and providing sellers with concise, effective marketing plans. His architectural background is an asset to his sales associate role, since both positions require a detail-oriented approach. Brian’s design knowledge is a valuable resource for clients who require expert professional advice about home plans, construction and zoning issues, especially if they are considering modifications to a future or existing home.
Known for his artistic eye in renovation, one of Brian’s projects was awarded the prestigious Devlin Historic Preservation Award in 2008 for the design of a residential restoration in Westfield. Being an environmentally-friendly designer is important to Brian, who is a LEED Accredited Professional; LEED is a designation given by the U.S. Green Building Council for sustainable building design. Brian established his own firm-Brian M. Taylor, AIA, Architect P.C.- in 2001. As the company president, he handled numerous residential and commercial projects, and gained valuable experience in negotiations, customer service and communications—traits that serve him well as a sales associate.
An impressive educational background includes a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the School of Architecture at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and an MBA from the School of Management at New Jersey Institute of Technology.
A longtime resident of New Jersey, Brian and his wife Katty, an attorney with her own practice, have four children. The family has two dogs: a Labrador retriever and a boxer. Other interests include world and American history, science, technology, international travel, financial and business markets, cooking and following his children’s sporting events.
Giving back to the community is important to Brian, who volunteers at the Holland Brook School in Readington every year to teach fifth graders about building technology at the Science Fest. He developed “The Science of Architecture” presentation which teaches curious students about the forces that act upon buildings and how building structures resist those forces. Brian is also an assistant wrestling coach for the Flemington Elks Wrestling Club.
Brian’s outstanding background in architecture combines with a passion for providing unparalleled service to buyers and sellers, making his transition into real estate sales a seamless one. His decision to join the Far Hills Office was based on the company’s longstanding history, first-rate reputation and appreciation of the region’s architectural heritage. “As an architect who loves history, Jack Turpin’s books were an inspiring look into the intimate tales of some of the most exquisite estate homes in the nation, all located right here in New Jersey.” Brian welcomes your future call or e-mail when you need the services of a goal-oriented professional.
