4 beds | 3 baths | 3.12 Acres | MLS/ID#: 3450079

Pride of ownership is apparent in this spacious Colonial located on over three acres bordering the 3000 +/- acre Black River Management Area with its numerous trails and hiking paths.

The rocking chair front porch leads to the welcoming front door and into the first level featuring newly-refinished hardwood floors and a recently-painted interior using a designer color palette of neutral tones.  Light-filled dining and living rooms flank the foyer of this classic center hall Colonial.  An open concept kitchen fitted with stainless steel appliances and built-in cabinetry opens to the breakfast, family and mud rooms.  An office or guest bedroom with adjoining bath completes this floor.

The master bedroom presents new carpeting and an impressive walk-in closet containing a center console dressing table/island and 40 feet of shelving and hanging spaces.  A sumptuous master bath has a double sink vanity, jetted tub and separate shower.  The large hall bathroom serves three additional bedrooms, all with closets and built-in organizational systems.  Rounding off this level are a laundry room, office and access to an unfinished walk-up attic for an abundance of storage options.

The walkout basement is arranged with a workshop for woodworking enthusiasts, a generously-sized home gym, plus recreation and storage rooms.

What sets this home apart are its lush outdoor spaces.  Truly resort-like in nature, the fully fenced and heated in-ground pool, screened porch and deck with a retractable awning are perfect for entertaining.  The state-of-the-art four-stall horse barn includes a tack room, hayloft and access to three adjoining fenced pastures. This barn could easily house a classic car collection or be transformed into an art studio.

The charming borough of Chester, with its iconic restaurants and shops, is near highways and transportation to major metropolitan areas and New York City. Students in Chester attend an award-winning school system.

Chester Township, NJ real estate market

About Chester Township

When talking about Chester in southwestern Morris County, you need to distinguish between the Borough of Chester, which is the shopping village, and Chester Township, the surrounding area which is decidedly more rural. At about 1½-square miles, the borough is located at the intersection of Routes 206 and 24 and offers quaint streetscapes lined with one-of-a-kind boutiques, antique shops and restaurants. Chester Township includes 29.8 square miles of farmland, newer residential developments and historic homes.

Incorporated in 1799, over 40%--or 12 square miles--of the township is preserved as open space. There are nature reserves, parks and deed-restricted agricultural property under the state Farmland Preservation Program, which buys the development rights while allowing the farmer to retain title and continue working the land.

The Borough of Chester was incorporated in 1930, and is a separate municipality that shares many services with the township such as a library, first aid squad, fire department, community pool, athletic programs, civic organizations and schools.
