The saying “think globally, act locally” applies to an Earth Day Stream Cleanup event taking place on Saturday, April 22 in the Brookside section of Mendham. Check in at the Mendham Township Town Hall at 2 West Main Street at 8:45am to register, then pick up supplies and get an assignment location. Volunteers will be cleaning up the headwaters of the Raritan River in the Mendham area. Finish up by noon with the garbage and recyclables that have been collected, knowing that you have made a positive difference to the natural beauty of our region.
All are welcome to participate in this free rain or shine event. For more detailed information, contact Jamie Kinsel of the Mendham Township Environmental Commission at 973-722-4461 or visit www.raritanheadwaters.org/StreamCleanup/.
