The Friends of the Jacobus Vanderveer House are currently hosting their fourth annual Field of Honor, a tribute that celebrates our nation’s independence and honors those who have served our country. This display showcases of over 200 American flags in the north field of River Road Park along Route 202/206 in Bedminster. Stop by the park to stroll through the patriotic display or adopt a flag to dedicate to your own hero.

This moving display is open from now through Monday, July 8. Flags are available for adoption for $30 and each dedication will be posted on our special Field of Honor web page.

The Jacobus Vanderveer House and Museum was the headquarters of General Henry Knox during the winter of 1778-79 and the only surviving building associated with the Pluckemin Artillery Cantonment, America’s first military academy. A State and National Historic Site, the Vanderveer house interprets 18th century Dutch Colonial life through the Vanderveer and Knox families and underscores the Pluckemin Cantonment’s role in helping the Continental Army to defeat the British during the Revolutionary War.
