Celebrating its 57th year in 2018, Stanton Holly Trail is the longest-running house tour in New Jersey. On Saturday, December 1, five private homes are open to the public for viewing elaborately Christmas decorations with hand-made ornaments and abundant fresh greens. Guests are bused from house to house, and are entertained by Bus Ambassadors who act as guides and can answer questions about the homes and the local area.
The Saturday tour begins when boarding a bus in the Round Valley Recreation Area parking lot. Booklets provide helpful information for the day and descriptions of each of the tour homes. A shuttle bus returns to the parking lot at the end of each tour.
Each $40 ticket includes bus transportation and admission to the homes, complimentary tea and home-made cookies at a sixth home, admission to the craft bazaar featuring artisan crafts, and a special appearance by Bob Richter, star of PBS Market Warriors and author of A Very Vintage Christmas. A gourmet lunch is available for an additional fee. Tickets are by advance sale only. All proceeds benefit Briteside Adult Day Center and community outreach at Stanton Reformed Church.
The quaint and historic village of Stanton is nestled between Clinton and Flemington at the base of Cushetunk Mountain. Established as a Dutch settlement several decades before the American Revolution, Stanton is a delightful place to live and visit.
