John Turpin is the third-generation Broker/Owner and Broker of Record of Turpin Realtors, a leading independent real estate brokerage serving Somerset, Morris, and Hunterdon Counties. Raised inside the business, John grew up listening to real estate strategy and market conversations between his father, Jack Turpin, who served as president for 30 years, and his grandmother, Virginia Turpin, who founded the firm in 1960. That early exposure shaped his deep understanding of residential real estate, marketing, and the standards of ethics and service that continue to define Turpin today.
John had the privilege of working alongside his father for a decade, learning not only how to run a brokerage, but how to lead with integrity, professionalism, and a long-term commitment to client care. That mentorship became the foundation for his own leadership style: steady, service-driven, and focused on reputation over short-term wins.
Before becoming president, John served in multiple roles within the company, including five years as a sales associate in the Mendham office, five years as manager of the Oldwick office, and as the founding manager of the Chatham office. This breadth of experience gives him a strong understanding of the daily realities agents face and the level of support, coaching, and infrastructure required for them to perform at their highest level.
At the core of John's vision is a simple belief: the best client experience begins with the best-supported agents. Under his leadership, Turpin Realtors has continued to evolve as a modern, technology-forward brokerage while preserving the firm's heritage, culture, and independence. He has expanded the company's technological capabilities and modernized its online presence, integrating advanced marketing strategies with high-touch, relationship-driven service.
John is especially proud of Turpin's collaborative culture, intentionally fostering an environment where experienced agents and emerging talent learn from one another and operate as a unified team. Outside of real estate, John is a dedicated family man and passionate musician who enjoys playing guitar and mandolin, entertaining friends, and sailing.
